###We are made of the same stuff you and I, of waves 🌊 and the earth 🌏, of stars ✨ and the sky 🌌

###To adhere or not to adhere!
.
.
###Oh no what a dreary sad mammalian cell!! 😞This is an adherent mammalian cell – this means they need to stick to the bottom of the petri plate to grow. Did you know that for adherent cell cultures – the cells don’t grow well if they aren’t dense enough? Densities below 20% confluence are known to inhibit growth!
.
.
###The lonesome cell is extremely sad with stormy clouds circling around its head. On the right is a better future! – the mammalian cells with friends and family and loved ones living a happy, healthy and stress-free life ✨ 🏖

###Trying something totally out of my comfort zone here. Usually I work with ink and with a planned sketch. This piece started off as I want to try something with paint, chalk & negative space!
.
.
###This still came out quite sciency without me intending it to. Rather than writing a science post about it thought I’d ask you folks
###What do you see?

###If amino acids were people they would be so sketchy! Here is my rendition of the matter

###The Helix Wars!
.
.
###Oh my what’s going on here?! When individual amino acids are strung together in a protein they don’t just exist in a straight line. They form “secondary structures” – one such example is a helix shown here!
.
.
###The side chain “R” of the amino acid varies – giving rise to several amino acids with different moods (chemical properties). The helix support group (MALEK) consists of Methionine, Alanine, Leucine, Glutamic acid and Lysine. These amino acids are perfectly supportive of a helix whereas proline and glycine rebel against them!!

###“If they treat you this way, they don’t deserve you”. That’s some planetary advice I’d say
.
.
###It’s earth day 🌏 but hey, the earth looks sad 🤭 it seems the humans have put her in a plastic net that she can’t get out of. If you were her friend, what advice would you give her?

###With all this attention the heart is getting, I thought I’d speak up for the poor brain – the true producer of feelings and love! Maybe it’s time to say I “brain” you!

###A scientist’s vision
.
.
###A scientist is perceived as one with very complicated and hard to understand work. It’s important to know, scientists are human too. I remember days in my grad school career when all I wished for was something as simple as a high yield of product(portrayed as DNA in the eye sketch)and lots of clean glassware to perform experiments with 👩🏻‍🔬

###Spotlight feature ✨😎
.
.
###Considering that so many of my comics are protein based – I thought I would introduce you all to the star 💫 presenting – an Amino Acid!!!
.
.
###An amino acid is an organic compound with a central carbon bonded to a carboxyl group (COOH drawn as the feet -OH and hand holding the mic 🎤 – =O ), a hydrogen (shown with dashed lines), an amino group (which makes up the face) and an “R” sidechain. This sidechain varies – giving rise to different amino acids – the building blocks of the protein alphabet!
